Jack Follman’s Week 11 Pac-12 Bowl Projections

We’re into November and some major storylines in the Pac-12 bowl chase are emerging.

Pac-12Number One is if Oregon can run the table from here and make the CFP, which would be a huge chain reaction effect on the Pac-12 bowl landscape.

The other big storyline for me is if Utah can be a true challenger to clear leader Oregon now. The Utes almost assuredly will get two shots at them in the last three weeks of the season before bowl games.

Here is how I think the Pac-12 bowl line up plays out right now.

Rose Bowl — Oregon vs. Michigan State

2:00 p.m. PT, ESPN, January 1, 2022, Rose Bowl, Pasadena, CA

Part of me thinks the Ducks are just going to win ugly week after week in a shockingly bad Pac-12.

A bigger part of me thinks they drop one of those close games, probably against Utah in Salt Lake City.

Getting to the Rose Bowl will be a nice consolation prize.

Alamo Bowl — Utah vs. Baylor

6:15 p.m., PT, ESPN, December 29, 2021, Alamodome, San Antonio, TX

The Utes might be playing the best football of anyone in the Pac-12 right now.

Things change overnight in the Pac-12 this year though.

For now they’re the clear Number Two in the conference and headed to San Antonio.

Las Vegas Bowl — Arizona State vs. Purdue

7:30 p.m. PT, ESPN, December 30, 2021, Allegiant Stadium, Las Vegas, NV

Arizona State might be the most-confusing of all the confusing teams in the Pac-12.

The other teams in their vicinity seem to be falling down the line though, meaning they have a great chance to get to Vegas.

Holiday Bowl — UCLA vs. North Carolina State

5:00 p.m. PT, FOX, December 28, 2021, Petco Park, San Diego, CA

Everyone has forgotten about the Bruins.

They still probably get to a good bowl as they win a couple more games down the stretch.

Sun Bowl — Washington State vs. Miami

9:30 a.m. PT, CBS, December 31, 2021, Sun Bowl, El Paso, TX

Watch out for the Cougars down the stretch.

Like Utah, they’re playing good football and have a chance to upset Oregon and make some noise.

I’ll stick with them in El Paso for now.

Los Angeles Bowl — Oregon State vs. Fresno State

4:30 p.m. PT, ABC, December 18th, 2021, SoFi Stadium, Los Angeles, CA

Losing to Colorado really hurt the Beavers in the bowl order.

Now they’re at the bottom of the Pac-12 projections.
