By CougFan.com:RYAN LEAF AND MICHAEL BUMPUS, two Washington State greats working on the Pac-12 Network’s broadcasting team Saturday at Martin Stadium, needed just one half of watching Cameron Ward in person to conclude that the transfer quarterback from Incarnate Word is the real deal.
“When you’re watching other quarterbacks struggle turning over the football, you want to put your best QB out there,” Leaf noted in the second quarter when offensive coordinator Eric Morris left Ward in for an extended run rather than stick with the series-by-series rotation with backups Xavier Ward and Emmett Brown. “He’s really widened the gap.”
