Oregon, Oregon State support NIL, oppose current proposed Oregon bill

By James Crepea, The Oregonian/OregonLive: The latest proposed state legislation to permit college athletes in Oregon to be compensated for their name, image and likeness (NIL) is scheduled for its first public hearing this afternoon and though the University of Oregon and Oregon State University are supportive of athletes being able to profit from their NIL, the schools are opposed to the bill, which also calls for “royalty payments to each student athlete who is a current member of the team” related to an athlete department’s merchandising and apparel agreements.
