By Chris Fetters, Dawgman.com: Daejon Davis and Jaylen Nowell appeared destined to continue their shared basketball journey, one that had them play at Garfield together for their junior and senior high school seasons. While Lorenzo Romar was at Washington, both Davis and Nowell signed with the Huskies, part of a class that included Michael Porter, Jr.
But Romar was let go the following spring, and the Huskies let the players out of their letters of intent to pursue other opportunities. New head coach Mike Hopkins was able to convince Nowell to stay with his original commitment to UW, but the 6-foot-3 Davis took it as a sign to re-open the recruiting process, ultimately signing with Stanford.
