This appalling situation, in which a cable television network is calling more shots in collegiate athletics than the NCAA, comes after years of NCAA stonewalling and delay tactics on NIL reforms the organization viewed as the end of the world, as though the sanctity of amateur athletics needed to be preserved at all costs.
